Volunteer & Internship Opportunities

Be a part of DeKalb County history! Get involved by volunteering or becoming an intern.


Get hands-on with the DeKalb County History Center! Internships with DCHC will give you firsthand experience in museum and nonprofit settings. Internships can be completed for credit with your college or university. Positions include the departments of exhibits and fundraising.

Join our team! DCHC would not be possible without the help of our volunteers. Volunteers receive special benefits and can help in a variety of positions, such as:

Archives: Filing, copying, researching, database entry.
Exhibits: Researching, interviewing, collecting artifacts, mounting, and installing exhibits.
Greeters: Welcoming visitors, collecting admission, gift shop.
Education: Planning and implementation of educational programs for students, scouts, families and adults.

Garden Committee: Maintaining and developing gardens.
Communications: Writing for the newsletter, press releases, public service announcements.
Museum: Docents (leads tours for visitors). Training provided.
Property: Assisting with general maintenance inside and outside the building.
