Site Markers
Take a step back in time by checking out a site marker, or create a scavenger hunt and find them all!
Markers are placed throughout DeKalb County to commemorate and share DeKalb’s exceptional role in agriculture, architecture, and the Underground Railroad.
- Agricultural: Markers placed by the DeKalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association will take you on a journey to visit sites that helped to pave the way for modern agriculture.
- Underground Railroad: Visit stops along the Underground Railroad, including the former farm home of Deacon David West, the Mayfield Congregational Church, and United Presbyterian Church. The featured markers are placed by the DeKalb County Historical-Genealogical Society.
- Historical: Step back in time by visiting historical markers placed throughout the county by a variety of groups dedicated to DeKalb County’s history.
