Brown Bag/Local Lore: “Past and Pleasant” Exhibit Discussion
The exhibit “Past and Pleasant” documents daily life in DeKalb’s historic Pleasant Street neighborhood and highlights the neighborhood’s unique intersections of industry, domesticity, commerce, and community gathering spaces.
Featuring work by NIU student photographers alongside historic photographs, the exhibit creates a celebratory portrait of an immigrant community indispensable to the city of DeKalb.
Join us Thursday, April 6 for a discussion of the exhibit, led by NIU Assistant Professor of Art Jessica Labatte and the Ellwood House Museum’s Exhibits and Events Coordinator, Anna-Marie Zurlinden.
