November Brown Bag/Local Lore program
October is National Archives month. During October, the DeKalb County History Center asked staff, volunteers, and history partners to share some of their favorites from the archives. Join them on Thursday, November 5 as part of the Brown Bag/Local Lore program to learn about some of the amazing pieces of history that have been preserved.
“Working with researchers or internal projects, we regularly come across interesting photos, documents, and maps that might not have seen in years. The Brown Bag/Local Lore program seemed like a great opportunity to showcase some of these special pieces with others,” explained Michelle Donahoe, County Historian and Executive Director of the DeKalb County History Center. She continued, “If anyone has anything to share from their personal collection, we would enjoy hearing those stories too.”
The Brown Bag/Local Lore program is held on the first Thursday of the month and is sponsored by the DeKalb County History Center and Ellwood House. All programs are being held virtually. If you are interested in attending email, info@dekalbcountyhistory.org. The programs are free, but registration is required. If you have any questions, please call 815-895-5762.
