Kid’s Day Off Program

Looking for something fun and educational for your children or grandchildren on Martin Luther King Day? The DeKalb County History Center, Midwest Museum of Natural History, North Grove School Association, and Sycamore Library are hosting their Kid’s Day Off Program on January 20.  These partners will explore stories connected to Martin Luther King and local history combined with related crafts and activities.

The DeKalb County History Center, Midwest Museum of Natural History, North Grove School Association, and Sycamore Library will lead craft activities in 30 minutes sessions, allow travel time between each location, and then start another fun session. Registration is strongly encouraged as there are limited slots at each location. When you call to reserve your spot, you will pick your starting point, and then be assigned a rotation of stops. There is a charge of $5 per child with a max of $15 per family, which can be paid on the day of the event. When you check in at the first stop, you will be given a ticket with your schedule.

To register or for more information call the DeKalb County History Center, 815-895-5762. The participating locations include the DeKalb County History Center, 1730 N. Main Street, Midwest Museum of Natural History 425 W. State Street, and the Sycamore Library is located at 103 E. State Street.
