Give DeKalb County

Join us on May 7 during Give DeKalb County – a county-wide 24 hour Day of Giving that supports the DeKalb County History Center and other non-profits throughout the county! Even more exciting is the Bonus Pool as every gift goes further during this event.

Your support helps us:

•  Inspire learning for all ages (welcoming 6,931 visitors in 2025, a 29% increase over the previous year)
•  Protect and expand access to our shared history (reaching audiences in 125 zip codes across 20 states, including 81 communities in Illinois)
•  Create award‑winning exhibits (recipient of the 2025 Award of Excellence from the Illinois Association of Museums)
•  Bring history to life through dynamic events (supported by 214 volunteers who gave 6,703 hours in 2025)

Our Give DeKalb County goal is $35,000, and a gift of any size helps ensure local history remains accessible, engaging, and relevant for generations to come. We’re also looking ahead to exciting developments in 2026, including:

•  The special exhibit “We the People of DeKalb” (opening Saturday, May 30, 2026 through May 2028)
•  Corn Crib Campus Expansion Project Grand Opening (Saturday, May 30, 12–3 pm)
•  Becoming the new home of the Sycamore Farmers Market (June 2–September 1)
