Genealogy Class – Registration opens on May 15

Interested in spending time this summer researching your family? Have you been researching for a while and hit a dead end? Need some new ideas on where to look?  Julie Dresser will be teaching her six-week genealogy class starting on Tuesday, June 4. She will start with an overview of genealogy and then get into specific areas to research each week. Topics will include: local and national repositories; finding your family in the census; birth, marriage and death records; home sources; military records and much more.

Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June starting on June 4 at 6:00 p.m. (June 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20).

Evaluations from previous classes repeatedly share that the information Dresser presents is good for those just starting to research their family and for those who have been working on their genealogy for years.

The classes will be from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the DeKalb County History Center. There is a $25 charge and registration is limited. Registration starts on May 15. To register call 815-895-5762 or email
